Since 1985, the Frederick Children's Chorus has accepted children entering grades 3-6 who have shown a special ability to learn and perform music. Members of the chorus develop stage presence, correct vocal singing technique, and self confidence.
The children learn to sing in many languages, including, but not limited to, Latin, Spanish, French, and Chinese. They are given the opportunity to develop an appreciation of many cultures, as well as gain familiarity with historically significant literary texts. Opportunities to host other choruses visiting our area, participation in festivals, and travel are offered to chorus members regularly. Additionally, we offer optional “fun” activities that allow the singers to get to know each other socially. The Frederick Children’s Chorus is an independent, non-profit organization, and is not affiliated with any other organization, church, or school system.
