Dear 5th Grade Honors Chorus Singers,

A special message from Mrs. Fuhr, our Executive Directors and your guest conductor, Mrs. Cummings.

Plans for the Summer….

Summer Camp

Due to the circumstances sorrounding the pandemic, we intend to deliver unique learning opportunities using interactive internet meetings and recorded video and audio lessons!

The theme, “Let’s Sing Around the World” was selected to introduce singers to music from vastly different regions of the world, and study some of the characteristics that help to define cultures in those regions. Virtually, campers will explore food, clothing, language, dance, art, music instruments, games, architecture, history, city and rural life-styles, educational opportunities, religion, natural and man-made resources and products (exports), and money (currency and economic opportunities).

At the beginning of each week, campers will receive PDF’s of music and links to Dropbox to hear recordings of the music. Printed music and audio CD’s will be provided upon request at a small additional fee.

As always, campers will receive a special 2020 Camp Tee Shirt to culminate the week.

Visit our camps page for more information on how to register and what locations will be offered.

Our Little Music Makers is our youngest group of singers for ages 3 to 5 years old. After the Training Chorus, we have our Concert Chorus singers who range from 4th to 8th grade. Our highest and most advanced tier is our Chamber Singers who must be at least in 9th grade.

Looking Forward…

Not only do we perform locally but we’ve had the pleasure to travel around the country to perform with other children’s choruses like our own! This has been a great opportunity for our singers to learn from their peers and make wonderful memories together through music. Many of our alumni have expressed these trips to be life changing experiences and a staple of their time singing with The Frederick Children’s Chorus.

Here are a few pictures of our singers traveling over the years.
