As you know, ERUCC underwent a huge renovation over the last 2 years, the cost of which was very large.  As you also know, ERUCC has allowed us to use their church building completely free of charge for 33 years.  We will forever be grateful to the church community for hosting us for free all those years, as it has allowed us to pass those savings on to you, our chorus family.
In this new era for the church, they now have a large mortgage to pay, and since the chorus takes up nearly every room in both buildings one full evening a week, it has become necessary for them to charge us a monthly rental fee.  Under their regular fee structure, we would be charged more than $1,600 per WEEK!  OUCH!  Thankfully, their board voted to offer us a monthly rental fee of just $500/month, beginning January 2019.  Whew!  Again, this demonstrates the strong bond we have with ERUCC and the solid belief they have that what we do is crucial to the community.
Additional new expenses include our new office space, staff and marketing.  As you know, we have moved to a formal office space in downtown Frederick, which will carry a rental fee beginning in September of 2019.  This new office space is more convenient than the DuBose farm in Woodsboro, more professional for attracting top talent to our staff, and more appropriate for the staff that is working both in the office and around the downtown community, meeting with businesses regularly to partner and network.   We have taken on additional staff to help us increase our membership numbers, and we are actively engaging in marketing our programs, all of which costs money.
These increased costs have precipitated an increase in tuition beginning in the fall of 2019.  Remember that the money you pay for tuition only covers 50% of the actual cost of your child’s membership in our chorus.  We make up the rest by soliticing private donations, in-kind gifts from businesses, cash sponsorships from businesses, and public grants from entities such as the Maryland Arts Council, Frederick Arts Council, Community Foundation of Frederick County, Delaplaine Foundation, Ausherman Family Foundation and many more.  We always do our best to save you money whenever we can.
Our chorus membership fees continue to be significantly less expensive per hour of
instruction than almost any other activity your child can engage in.
